
Paul Franklin
Chair
Paul is the President of the South Carolina Aging-In-Place Coalition (SCAIP), a non-profit organization dedicated to helping seniors stay independent and age-in-place. Transportation has been a major focus of the SCAIP and Paul has taken an active role in working with the Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority to develop senior friendly bus routes, schedules and bus stop facilities. Paul is a certified financial planner and lives with his wife in James Island, SC.
Phil Jones
Vice-Chair
Phil graduated from the US Naval Academy and retired from the Marine Corps in 1982. He is now a partner in a mortgage company after having spent some time as a real estate broker with Westvaco. Phil involved in many professional and non-profit organizations most of which are in Dorchester County, SC where he lives.
Barbara Camera
Secretary
Barbara recently retired from a career at IBM and moved to Daniel Island, SC. She attended college on the east coast. Barbara has extensive experience with volunteer organizations from food pantries to home repair for the elderly.
Lindsay Epley, CPA
Treasurer
Lindsay has been an accountant for 6 years with McKnight Frampton CPA's. She graduated from the College of Charleston and received her MA from the University of Charleston. Lindsay lives on Daniel Island, SC.
Richard Giffen
Past Chair
Dick is a retired minister and former Executive Presbyter of the Presbyterian Church (USA), serving 13 years for the Presbytery of Elizabeth in New Jersey. He has degrees from Pittsburgh Seminary, the University of Pittsburgh and Muskingum College. He was Director of the Shepherd's Center of East Cooper for seven years and is Founder and Director of the Faith in Action GoFor Project, working with homebound people. In 2004 he initiated "Senior Wheels," which is now doing business as ITNCharlestonTrident. Dick and his wife live in Mt. Pleasant, SC.
Dick is also server on the ITNAmerica board of directors.
Phil Avery
Board Member
Phil is a retired pilot having flown for the US Air Force and for American Airlines. He graduated from college in Georgia. He owned and operated an internet-based business for 25 years. Phil and his wife now live on Isle of Palms, SC.
Paul Bolen

Paul is a Certified Financial Planner and lives in Summerville, SC. He was in the US Air Force and retired in 1992 when he began his career in financial planning. He is a member of the Dorchester County Chamber of Commerce and several financial planning organizations.
David Neff
Board Member
David is from Ohio and received most of his formal education there. He is currently the Administrator of Ambulatory Care Services for the Medical University of South Carolina. He has served in health care administration for 26 years in 3 different states. He is a member of several community associations including Rotary. He and his wife live in downtown Charleston, SC.
Cornelia Pelzer
Board Member
Cornelia is the Executive Director of the Association for the Blind, Inc. She received her BA in Mathematics from the University of Tennessee. She is very active in the community and serves on the Board of Bishop Gadsden retirement community among other community organizations. Cornelia lives in downtown Charleston, SC.
Janet Schumacher
Board Member
Janet is the City of Charleston Mayor's Office on Aging (MOA) Coordinator. The MOA was established in 1999 as an advocate for seniors and through its community forums, the MOA has consistently identified transportation as a primary concern. Janet is also the City's ADA Coordinator with a focus on accessibility for people with disabilities. Janet graduated from college in Virginia and lives in Charleston, SC.
Belinda Swindler
Board Member
Belinda graduated from Winthrop University. She is the Senior Citizens Coordinator for the city of North Charleston and focuses on recreation for seniors. She enjoys working directly with seniors and the neighborhoods in which they live. She was born and raised in North Charleston, SC and lives there still.
Pam Tucker
Board Member
Pam is the Director of Marketing and Public Relations for East Cooper Regional Medical Center in Mt. Pleasant. She has worked with medical practices, hospices and related industries since 1980. She is a resident of Mt. Pleasant having grown up on James Island. SC.
David Unwin
Board Member
Dave is US Army Retired. After retiring from the Army, he worked in Charleston as a civilian for the Navy being responsible for a variety of safety programs. He has served with the SC Silver Haired Legislature for several years. Dave is involved in many social and civic clubs, and lives with his wife in Summerville, SC.
Elizabeth Willis
Board Member
Elizabeth is the Director of Senior Services at Roper St. Francis Healthcare. She has worked in health administration for 12 years. She received her MBA and MHA from University of Alabama at Birmingham. Elizabeth is currently involved in the Lowcountry Senior Network as well as a variety of other social and non-profit organizations. She and her family live in downtown, Charleston, SC.
